Weather Sealing Under the Victorian Energy Upgrades Program

What Can Be Weather Sealed?
Depending on your property and eligibility, supported measures can include:

- Ceiling or wall exhaust fans
- Wall vents
- Chimneys
- Evaporative cooler vents

Who Is Eligible?
Victorian households wanting to seal eligible windows, doors, chimneys or vents can participate, subject to program requirements and property suitability. Private rental properties may also participate.
Important Safety Requirements for Homes With Gas Appliances
Weather sealing must be approached carefully where certain open-flued or flueless gas appliances are installed because adequate ventilation may be required for safe operation.
Some homes with these gas appliances are not eligible for weather sealing under the VEU program. Suitability should therefore be checked before any sealing work is undertaken.
