Federal Battery Support
The Australian Government's Cheaper Home Batteries Program also applies to eligible non-residential premises.
Under current rules, eligible battery systems can have a nominal capacity from 5 kWh to 100 kWh, with Small-scale Technology Certificates applying to the first 50 kWh of usable capacity. Eligible systems must be connected to new or existing solar PV, use approved equipment and be installed under the required accreditation arrangements.
The Australian Government describes the program as providing an upfront discount of around 30%, although the actual discount depends on the system and certificate calculation and is designed to reduce over time.
