Heating and Cooling Rebates in Victoria
Upgrade to efficient reverse-cycle heating and cooling.
The Victorian Energy Upgrades program provides incentives for eligible households and businesses installing efficient reverse-cycle air conditioning.
Reverse-cycle systems provide both heating and cooling from the same appliance and can replace inefficient gas or electric heating systems.

What Systems Are Supported?
Single Split
One outdoor unit connected to one indoor unit. Best suited to individual rooms or open-plan areas.
Multi Split
One outdoor unit connected to multiple indoor units. Suitable where multiple rooms require independent indoor units.
Ducted Reverse Cycle
A central system distributes conditioned air through ductwork and vents. Suitable for whole-home heating and cooling.
How Much Is the Discount?
There is no single rebate amount for every installation.
The incentive depends on factors including the existing heating system, whether gas equipment is removed, type and capacity of the new system, number of systems, product efficiency and current VEEC certificate value.
The Victorian Government gives examples ranging up to $1,610 for certain non-ducted gas-heater replacements, with considerably higher incentives possible for eligible whole-of-home ducted-gas replacement scenarios. Your actual rebate should therefore be calculated for your property before you commit.
Product Requirements
Only products meeting current VEU requirements qualify. Eligible reverse-cycle air conditioners must also carry a minimum five-year warranty under the VEU requirements.
