Heat Pump Hot Water Rebates and Discounts in Victoria

The VEU program supports eligible replacements of existing hot-water systems with efficient heat pump or other approved systems.

The Victorian Government currently states that households can save up to approximately $630 on upfront costs, depending on the replacement scenario and system selected. Actual certificate value can vary.

As of 1 July 2026, eligible households may receive up to $1,400 for an eligible locally made hot-water product, or up to $1,000 for other eligible hot-water products.

Solar Victoria's household income eligibility cap for new solar-PV and hot-water rebate applications changed to $150,000 combined household taxable income per year from 1 July 2026. Other property, ownership and product criteria also apply.

For eligible customers and products, Solar Victoria confirms that the hot-water rebate and VEU hot-water discount can be combined.

• An existing hot-water system being replaced
• The relevant house or building generally being at least two years old
• Use of an eligible approved product
• A minimum five-year warranty for eligible heat-pump hot-water systems
